Dear Easton Valley Families and Community Members,

We are thrilled to announce that we have finalized our plan to honor and celebrate our Easton Valley graduating seniors. On the evening of June 5, 2020, we will be holding our graduation ceremony for the Easton Valley class of 2020 outside and under the bright lights on our football field around 8:00 pm. Since the conclusion to our seniors’ academic experience was less than ordinary, it is only fitting that we celebrate their success in an extra-ordinary way. We want to thank our senior students for their leadership and input in the development of this plan. There is no doubt that it will be one graduation ceremony to remember.

In addition to collaborating with our students, we have consulted with the leads of the Jackson County and Clinton County Public Health Departments to ensure the safety of everyone who may be in attendance. As you may have guessed, there will be a number of restrictions and guidelines that will need to be followed. For instance…

  • We will provide clustered seating on and around the football field for the immediate household(s) of each senior student.

  • Clusters will have limited seating and will need to remain six feet apart.

  • Groups will need to remain in their designated area throughout the ceremony.

  • We will be developing a protocol to stagger the entry and exit of each family attending the ceremony.

  • Common practices such as handshaking will not be able to take place

  • Extensive efforts will be made to sterilize handrails, microphones, or any other surfaces that may be touched by multiple individuals

Since we have to limit seating on and around the field we will be asking families to reserve these seats for those living in the student’s immediate household. For students with split families, we will offer separate clusters of seats. To allow our students’ extended families and friends to share in the experience we will offer multiple options to allow them to view the ceremony.

  • One vehicle per student will be admitted for parking around the upper football field area

  • We are hoping to display the ceremony onto a large projection screen in the middle of the field

  • We are planning to live stream the event to be viewed online and on local television

  • The event will be recorded so that it can be viewed at a later time

In the event of inclement weather, we have scheduled Saturday, June 6, 2020, as our backup day. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be working through other details of the plan and will share them as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience in allowing us to work together to coordinate the type of celebration our students deserve. We cannot wait to join you all in this unique experience.

Take Care,

Chris Fee
