It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Easton Valley Jr/Sr High School for the 2023-2024 school year and to join this extraordinary school district. I hope you are enjoying the last days of school and finishing up strong. I can assure you that I share the same vision and possess a strong drive to help our students and lead our staff each and every day, while pursuing a top tier environment.

I am coming to you from Davenport West where I have been a Special Education Teacher, Head Football, Head Girls Basketball, and Head Strength Coach the past three years. Previously I have served several different roles throughout grades 2-12 as a teacher and in various leadership positions since 2001. I grew up in rural Aplington, Iowa on a dairy farm. I went on to earn my BA in education at Wartburg College and gained my K-12 Strat II Special Education endorsement from Morningside College in 2016. Last year I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership through Grand Canyon University which allowed me to pursue a career in school administration. I am married with five children. We have 4 girls and a boy, ranging from a Junior in High School to my son in kindergarten. My wife, Jess, is currently a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Davenport North. She is amazingly talented in a lot of areas. As a family, we love to stay active by participating in lots of different events across the community.

Throughout my visits to the Easton Valley community, I gained a glimpse of how special this school system is and how much potential they have to be the standard by which all schools in Iowa look to model after. I will work extremely hard to continue the push toward this goal and make EV proud. I am looking forward to our journey and excited to get started.

In closing, please know that my door is always open to all of you. I welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. I look forward to meeting all of you soon, as well as celebrating our collective improvements and successes during the 2023-2024 school year.

Enjoy the remaining days of school and your summer!

Sincerely,
Mr. Brandon Krusey
