Staff Spotlight: Ms. Houzenga

Ms. Houzenga is the art teacher at the elementary school in Miles. She has been teaching for 17 years. As a former East Central teacher, she chose to teach at Easton Valley because it is close to home. Her favorite subject to teach is Grant Wood and the American Gothic. Ms. Houzenga enjoys passing on knowledge and learning from her students.
In addition to teaching art, Ms. Houzenga is the co-director of the Easton Valley Drama Department with Jay Pauley. They have been successfully leading the program for the past three years. She also teaches youth theatre at Easton Valley Elementary as well as at Andrew Elementary. In her free time, she enjoys making art and has a studio in Savanna.
