On August 30th, the groundbreaking of the Easton Valley greenhouse began. This is the start to a new and exciting adventure for the Easton Valley Agricultural Program. Alia Schmidt, the Easton Valley FFA President and member of the greenhouse committee, answered a few questions about the greenhouse.
The greenhouse committee is hopeful the greenhouse structure will be up at the beginning of October. All students and adults are excited about this new chapter for the agricultural program. Preparations for the greenhouse have been in the making for over a year. The greenhouse committee worked hard to write grants and get the process started in 2023. The Easton Valley Greenhouse Student Committee includes Houston Holdgrafer, Alia Schmidt, Charlie Lane, Ella Burken, and Ethan Matthiesen. They went to local businesses and presented about the project which helped spread the word and raise money for the greenhouse.
The Greenhouse Management class has started gaining knowledge about horticulture and the process of the greenhouse. These committees and students of the Greenhouse Management class are very excited to see all their hard work and dedication pay off!
