Easton Valley Voters,

In our school election we had a substantially high turnout once again, with approximately 1,200 residents who cast their vote. When calculating the final election results the votes from Jackson County and Clinton County must be added together. Based on the unofficial results being shared by both auditor's offices it appears that there were a grand total of 714 yes votes compared to 486 no votes on the Easton Valley Public Measure. That equates to 714 yes votes out of a total of 1,200 votes that were cast, bringing the total percent in favor of the measure to 59.5%. In order for the proposed project to pass our community needed to exceed the 60% super majority that is required in these types of elections.

At this time it appears that the measure did not pass, but we will wait for the official results to be released by the auditors in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who educated themselves on this issue and participated in the election.
