On Tuesday, November 11th, Easton Valley’s Junior High and High School celebrated Veterans Day with their annual Veterans Day Program, with the American Legion members from Miles, Preston, and Sabula in attendance.

Steve Trenkamp was the Master of Ceremonies and led the program. Carolyn Grant, Steve Trenkamp’s daughter, researched and presented a slideshow on the Vietnam Conflict: 50 Years Later, highlighting various community members who were involved. She discussed how the draft functioned during that era and how it helped students understand what life was like for those who were drafted and their families.

In Carolyn’s presentation, she spotlighted seven people: Steve Driscoll, Verlyn Bormann, Jon Kilburg, Larry Budde, Ronald Beck, Dennis Bormann, and Delbert Klemme. She talked about what life was like for them during their time overseas.

The Veterans Day Program is a great way for veterans to receive recognition for their service and for students to understand the price of freedom. Thank you to all Easton Valley community veterans and active military members for their service!
