Easton Valley Families and Community,
We are excited to share that the Easton Valley Community School District, in partnership with Andrew and Delwood Community School Districts, has been awarded the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant for the next five-year cycle!
This grant will continue and expand our LEAP (Leader Education After School Program) that has provided high quality before school, after school, and summer programming opportunities for elementary students and families in our communities.
Through this new award cycle, approximately 300 students across the three districts will have access to academic support, enrichment activities, leadership opportunities, and safe, structured programming environments, all at NO COST TO FAMILIES.
The grant will provide approximately $250,000 annually to support programming and services designed to meet the needs of our rural communities. Programming opportunities will continue to include:
Academic support in reading and math
Enrichment and leadership activities
Before school, after school, and summer programming
USDA-approved snacks and meals
Safe and supervised environments for students outside the regular school day
Programming schedules are designed to align with working families’ needs, with students typically able to participate from approximately 7:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m.
The LEAP program has already demonstrated tremendous positive impacts for students, including:
Improved student behavior
Increased confidence in reading and math
Stronger social and peer relationships
Increased student engagement and school connectedness
In addition to academic support, the program creates opportunities for students to participate in enriching experiences that may include community partnerships, guest presenters, outdoor learning opportunities, field trips, leadership activities, and hands-on learning experiences that broaden horizons for our students.
We are incredibly grateful for the partnerships and collaboration between our districts, staff members, families, and community organizations that continue to make this work possible. This award is an investment not only in our students, but in the long term strength and success of our communities.
We look forward to sharing additional information and updates as planning for the next grant cycle continues.
Thank you for your continued support of Easton Valley students and families!
