Elementary Spring Concert - Monday April 20th, 2026 @ 5:30 p.m.
We will be presenting "It's A Jungle Out There," as well as other related jungle songs from grades K-6, and the 5/6 band! Notes will be coming home with your students this week. There will be a matinee rehearsal during the school day on Monday at 1:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing all of you to share everything the students have been working on!

The Easton Valley Quiz Bowl team awarded a $1200 scholarship from their win at Clinton Community College's Winter Quiz Bowl Tournament to EV senior, Abby Felkey. Congratulations, Abby! Abby is continuing her education in nursing at CCC in the fall of 2026.

Today Kindergarten had their family hour, we did a taking care of earth craft as this goes along with our CKLA knowledge unit we just started. Students talked with their family about what earth is made up of, what a natural resource is and how we can make earth a better place.

The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council at the Iowa Department of Education is awarding 17 STEM BEST® Program model schools a total of over $300,000 to help bring real-world STEM learning opportunities to life for Iowa students this summer. The 2026 STEM BEST Explore awards was officially released to the public today. The Easton Valley Community School District has been awarded up to $20,000 to put toward a summer learning experience. Students will maintain hydroponic units in the existing greenhouse, harvest produce, prepare it for sale and manage pest control through the Greenhouse Internship Program. Students will also deliver educational lessons about plant science to elementary students.

River Hawk Softball Pitch/Catch Clinic 2026 was a big success! The morning group consisted of 3rd-5th graders, and the afternoon group was 6th-12th graders, all girls with an interest in pitching or catching. Thank you to Coach Emily, a pitching coach from the Clinton area, for bringing her expertise to the afternoon group.

3rd Grade wrapped up their Native American unit by having special guest, Gene Kieffer, come in to share his collection of artifacts. Gene talked about tribes that were local to our area and even taught the students a few Native American games!

Today we announced the nominations and winners for our March Soaring River Hawks in the elementary! Congratulations to all of these students! Joclynn Paulsen--was nominated by Mrs. Adams. "She is always willing to help others. Her bubbly personality is a joy to have every day. Thanks for being a great leader!" Everett Lawson--was nominated by Chicken. "He volunteered to help. He took something to the gym for me." Leo Waltert--was nominated by Miss Barb. "Leo offered to clean tables at lunchtime and was upset that he couldn't that day. He came back the next day and did a great job!" Zoey Goodenow--was nominated by Mrs. Kilburg. "She has transitioned so well to EV! She is kind and helpful to her classmates."
