Today we’re recognizing Riverhawk NHS chapter vice president Kaitlyn Lee. Kaitlyn’s service project was to bring awareness of your social media presence to the students in our our JH leadership course. She did a great job of reminding them, “if you don’t want your grandma to read it, don’t say it!” Thank you, Kaitlyn, for always leading with a smile!

Today, our governor announced that schools in Iowa will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. Despite this being the right thing to do, we are very saddened by this news. We will continue to deliver quality learning experiences via our Voluntary Distance Learning Plan. Please look for additional info and guidance to come out next week. Please be safe and take care!

Check out this awesome poem written by Lily Cheramy in 4th grade. Awesome job Lily 👏🙌. We are living in a time. Where going out is a crime. To support those on the frontline. We will keep in line. So do your part. And stay apart.

As we continue to evaluate our current situation, here is some information about Service Learning hours that the school board and administrators have decided upon. Seniors will have all service learning hours forgiven for this year. Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors that have uncompleted hours that still need to be turned in for this year, are allowed to roll them over into the next school year. Any completed hours for these three grades that have already been turned in, will be counted for this school year. Thank you for your patience as we continue to evaluate different areas as we near the end of this school year. We hope that everyone is keeping safe and staying healthy.

Dear Easton Valley Families, We hope that everyone is making the most of this trying time and you are able to find some joy each day. We have been so thankful for all of the staff and community members who have made our lunch program successful in the past two and a half weeks. Unfortunately, we knew the time would come that we would need to re-evaluate our ability to continue to provide meals safely to our students. The safety of our staff, students, and our communities is our number one priority even though we are not in session. We have come to the difficult decision that we need to put our meal program on hold for the next few weeks when we will re-evaluate our ability to provide this service. We do not want any child to go hungry during this time! If your family is struggling and in need of assistance, please email any teacher at the elementary or high school, Mrs. Schmidt or Mr. Johnson and we will coordinate with our local partners to assist you with food needs. Friday, April 3, 2020 will be our last meal drop off/pick up time until we re-evaluate. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for assistance. We are here to help. Enjoy the time with your family and we can’t wait to see everyone back at school! Sincerely, Easton Valley Administration
