"Easton Valley Booster Club Cake Auction Success"
The annual Easton Valley Booster Club Cake Action was held on Friday, January 19th. The successful live auction was conducted by Butch Bormann. The Downtown Pub/K&K Green Acres made the highest bid of $2,300 during the live auction for the cake in memory of Dick Keeney donated by Keeney Welding. The cake that brought in the most money was the Perry Strong Cake in Memory of Dan Marburger donated by the East Central Class of 1985. It was first bought by the Preston Grocery & Meat Locker for $1,600 who then donated it back so it could be auctioned off again. The Perry Strong Cake was bought a second time by Johnson Farms for $1,100 bringing this cake to a total of $2,700.
The live auction alone brought in over $15,000 with 10 cakes on the auction block. It was a successful night for everyone involved with the grand total coming in around $20,000. A special thanks to all of the parents, faculty, community members, and businesses for their support!
