This individual will join our collaborative team of district leaders who we share between our three respective districts. The job responsibilities and time of this school leader will be divided equally between the four school buildings in our districts.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of teaching experience
Preferred, Masters in School Administration of Curriculum and Instruction
Evaluator Approval Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Leadership experiences in supporting adult learning and curriculum/ instruction/ assessment
Compensation & Contract Length: (Negotiable based on experience)

Job Description
JOB TITLE: Special Education Director
SUPERVISOR: Reports to Superintendent
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Special Education serves as a member of the Learning Services Leadership Team. This role provides leadership, management, supervision, evaluation, coordination, and direction of all special education programs and services for students with disabilities. Responsibilities include strategic professional development, creating and managing budgets, monitoring compliance to meet state and federal mandates, and supporting equitable evidence-based practices and programming for academic growth and achievement, social-emotional learning, and behavior management within a multi-tiered system of supports framework.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and implements program goals and objectives for the special education program PK-12th grade while maintaining an awareness of current laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to specific programs.
Applies current research and techniques to ensure that all individuals with exceptional needs are appropriately identified, assessed, and provided appropriate education programs and services designed to meet their unique needs.
Represents the School in legal proceedings, participates in IEP meetings, discussions, informal conferences, mediations, and due process hearings to resolve issues regarding special education students.
Develops and maintains liaison with appropriate governmental agencies and relevant community groups and remains current on legislation pertaining to areas of special education.
Recommends and manages the budget for special education programs.
Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to special education.
Performs regular program reviews and recommends changes in program, methodology, curriculum and/or procedures as necessary to increase rigor.
Provides staff development for special education personnel.
Participates in the selection of personnel for the Special Education Department.
Maintains the confidentiality of information used in personnel issues and school functions.
Disseminates information regarding special education to staff, students, parents, and the community.
Serves as the custodian of special education records.
Analyzes and secures contracted services and provides oversight.
Directly supervises Implementation of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
Monitors Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s), assists with evaluation and eligibility
Provide coaching for Special Education Staff as assigned

Job Description
JOB TITLE: Curriculum Director
SUPERVISOR: Reports to Superintendent
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Curriculum will provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of the district’s curriculum and instructional services, federal programs, assessment, research and evaluation services. The Director ensures that the district/school education objectives are aligned to state frameworks and to instructional practices that yield the highest standards of student achievement and instructional excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support all aspects of district instructional and curriculum integration.
Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Comprehensive Curriculum Plan in buildings and the districts
Supervise the administration and analysis of all state and local testing programs within the district, including the creation of an annual district-wide assessment calendar.
Represent the school district in meetings and conferences related to curriculum, instruction and assessment
Report periodically to the board on all curriculum matters as directed by the Superintendent.
Coordinate and supervise the Instructional Support program for the district, including implementation of a consistent K-12 Response to Intervention (RTI) system.
Coordinate the Teacher Induction Program and district orientation programs and activities of new teachers and administrators.
Counsel with principals and teachers on matters of district-wide concerns in order to help them improve their effectiveness.
Bring leadership and oversight in the area of best instructional practices to all staff by developing and delivering professional learning
Supervise and evaluate Instructional Coaches
Recommend a budget to the Superintendent to meet the objectives of this office and operate within the budget
Attend and actively participate in professional association meetings and conferences at the local, county, state, and national levels.
Promote and participate in public relations including the district website and web pages.
Serve on district-wide committees as needed.
Establish an open line of communication with the community.
Provide teachers with guidance, feedback and support in curriculum mapping, developing learning objectives, academic goal setting, and vertical curriculum alignment
Support prioritized needs identified by building principals such as science, social studies, and other secondary areas

Our first NHS Senior Spotlight!



📣 Leadership Day is this coming Wednesday, May 7!
We invite all families, businesses, and community members to join us from 8:30-10:10 to experience our student leadership, including a River Hawk rally, student-led presentations, and the Drink Shack.
We’re WILD about Leadership and can’t wait to share it with you! Hope to see you there!
After the public events, all students will take part in a service project, packing meals for Kids Against Hunger.
