Building Easton Valley Future
On Friday, October 17, EV Junior High and High School will participate in our annual school wide day of service. All students will travel to different parts of our district helping our residents with projects. We plan on participating in this service project one time in the fall and one time in the spring. Please use the following link to submit requests for help between 8:30am and 11:30am on October 17. You can also call Brandon Krusey at (563) 689-4221 or send an email to brandon.krusey@eastonvalleycsd.com. Please pass this on to anyone you think could benefit. We will do our best to provide support to as many families and organizations that we can.

Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Michaelsen’s 3rd graders just finished up their first writing project of the year! Students learned about the themes of friendship, loyalty, responsibility, irresponsibility, and hospitality while reading the story The Wind in the Willows. Each student chose a character from the story and wrote about which theme they thought that character represented the most!

I was able to register EV for a district license (free) to use uPar. With the help of our amazing AEA support, we tested our first student today. uPar gives us data to show if adaptive technology supports our struggling readers.

Iowa State University Extension & Outreach is excited to kick off year 2 of the Iowa 4-H Statewide Fishing Club, this program is designed to engage students in grades 4-12 with Iowa’s aquatic ecosystems, fishing techniques, and environmental stewardship.

This unique program helps youth step away from screens and into the great outdoors, where they can develop lifelong skills in fishing, fish identification, lure tying, water safety, and more. Through webinars, tournaments and skills days, members will build confidence and appreciation for nature while connecting with other young anglers across the state.

Scholarships are available to ensure all youth have the opportunity to participate.
