Our fifth graders put their reading skills to the test during an exciting ELA Escape Room: Escape the Candy Factory! Students worked in teams to solve idioms, compare passages, answer comprehension questions, and tackle vocabulary challenges in order to "unlock" their way out. The activity involved key literacy skills while building collaboration and critical thinking - and most importantly, the students had a blast learning together! ❤️

Today during our Leader in Me time, 5th graders made Compli-Mats. Students walked from desk to desk writing something positive on each classmates mat. Some of the compliments were, "You are the most kindest friend I know," "You are a creative person," "You have a great sense of humor," and "You're my friend, Bro!"
It was so nice to hear the kids get excited to write positive notes. They also enjoyed getting back to their seats to read all of the great compliments.
